Peyton 16, Ellicott 6

At Ellicott: Peyton (4-0) rode another dazzling defensive performance to beat Ellicott (3-2) as the Panthers redeemed last year's 33-13 loss to the Thunderhawks.

The Pikes Peak region's 2A No. 1 team overcame two turnovers for its fourth straight victory.

Ellicott came in scoring 34.25 points per game, but managed only a Jaylen-Hayes TD on Friday.

"There aren't many holes in the defense," Peyton coach Richard Deems said. "Our lines did a great job for us tonight."

Trevor Walker rushed for a 28-yard score and Wyatt Lee added a short-yard TD in the second quarter for the Panthers.

Peyton outgained Ellicott 254-204.

Discovery Canyon 55, Palmer Ridge 6

At Don Breese Stadium: Trevor Ivy rushed for three touchdowns, Sterling Watkins returned an interception for a score and Discovery Canyon (4-0) rolled past Palmer Ridge (2-2).

The Thunder lost a fumble deep in their own territory to open the game, but their playmaking defense recovered a fumble on the Bears' first play to get the ball back.

"Our defense is playing good right now," Discovery Canyon coach Shawn Mitchell said. "They're getting the offense the ball back pretty quickly when they're out there."

The Pikes Peak region 3A No. 1 team rolled out to a 49-0 lead at half and cruised in the second half with a running clock. Discovery Canyon has outscored its opponents 118-19 in the first half this season.

It hasn't been so good for the Bears of late: After winning their first two games of the season, they have fallen in their last two by a combined score of 106-15.

Harrison 22, Glenwood Springs 7

At Glenwood Springs: Ramone Daley rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns as Harrison (2-2) beat Glenwood Springs (1-3) for its second straight win.

Aumiere Shedrick scored a 13-yard touchdown and ran in a two-point conversion to put the Panthers up 8-0 in the first quarter. Daley had scores of 26 and 56 yards in the second to extend the lead to 22-0.

Glenwood Springs' only points came on a 77-yard run with 6 minutes remaining. Harrison had pitched a shutout in its previous seven quarters.

Doherty 49, Westminster 34

At Westminster: Zander Offutt connected with Justin Ragland for a 54-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage as Doherty (3-1) beat Westminster (0-4) for its second straight road win.

In the first half alone, Offutt hit Isaac Kubik for scores of 62 and 12 yards. He also connected with D'angelo Shepherd for 31 yards to help push the Spartans' lead to 37-20.

Offutt threw another TD in the third quarter and Julian Cooks rushed for a score to give the Spartans a 49-20 lead with 10:37 remaining.

Doherty hosts Fountain-Fort Carson next week.

Pikes Peak Christian 20, West Grand 8

At PPC: The Eagles (3-1) beat West Grand (3-1) for their third straight win.

Vaughn Schrock and Hunter Grant each scored rushing TDs for Pikes Peak Christian. Ethan Sherman threw a score to Tommy Harmon.

The Eagles scored twice in the fourth quarter to hand the Mustangs their first regular-season loss since last October.

"It was a huge win for us," Eagles coach Kelvin Thorne said. "Now that we have some momentum it seems like we've been able to roll."

Pikes Peak Christian had won just five games over the past two seasons.

TCA 37, Pueblo Central 7

At Dutch Clark Stadium: Brayden Luft returned an interception for a touchdown, Ethan Boyles tallied a safety and TCA (4-0) beat Pueblo Central (0-4) to stay undefeated.

Cade Bethany went 8 of 14 for 136 yards and two touchdowns for the Titans. He also had six rushes for 60 yards.

Rhys Ryba scored a touchdown in his fourth straight game.

Elbert 34, Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind 6

At CSD&B: Elbert (2-2, 2-0 A-6 Central) takes the top spot in league after a dominant victory over the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind (0-3, 0-2).

The CSD&B Bulldogs have been outscored 159-44 in three games this season.

Florence 14, Elizabeth 3

At Elizabeth: Florence (3-1) delivered another strong defensive performance to beat Elizabeth (1-3) for its third straight win.

Last week, the Huskies allowed 86 yards of offense in a 42-0 win against St. Mary’s.

Manitou Springs 55, Englewood 7

At Englewood: Davyn Adamscheck had four touchdowns as Manitou Springs continued its resurgence in a dominate win over Englewood on Friday.

The Mustangs gave up a touchdown on the opening kickoff before scoring the next 55 points.

Manitou Springs has won three games by 40 or more points this season. Its 4-0 start already surpasses last season’s three wins.

Lewis-Palmer 42, Pueblo County 22

At Pueblo County: Lewis-Palmer (4-0) had another big day on the offensive side of the ball as the Rangers beat Pueblo County (2-2).

The Pikes Peak region 3A No. 3 team has scored 42 or more points in every game this season.

Woodland Park 15, Sierra 6

At Sierra: Woodland Park (2-2) beat Sierra (0-4) to snap a two-game losing streak.

Lutheran 21, Falcon 14, OT

At Lutheran: Falcon’s Jalen Hernandez returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown, but the Falcons (1-3) lost in overtime to Lutheran (3-1).

Falcon has scored 14 or fewer points in its three losses this season.

Valley 28, CSCS 14

At Valley: The Lions’ offense fell back to earth on Friday as CSCS (2-2) lost to Valley (3-1).

The Lions had scored 94 points in their last two games.

Widefield 27, Palmer 22

At Foster Stadium: Widefield (3-1) beat Palmer (0-4) to win its third straight.

Pueblo South 49, Coronado 28

At Coronado:  The Cougars tied a season-high with 28 points, but they still lost to Pueblo South (3-1).

Pueblo East 41, Canon City 13

At CSU-Pueblo: Canon City (2-2) scored a season-low 13 points as it lost its second straight game.

At Clement Park: Liberty's Allison Man was named the meet MVP after she won the Division I girls' race in 19 minutes and 22 seconds.

Mann exploded onto the running scene with a third-place finish in the 5A 3,200 race last spring. She said her success came after she was able to control her anemia and hypothyroidism.

Spartan Invitational

At Doherty: Coronado No. 1 singles player Ashton Rogers beat Doherty's Caleb Laurence in straight sets to help lead the Cougars to the tournament win.

Spencer Furgerson (No. 2) and James Boehlke (No. 3) also had wins for Coronado.

Palmer took second in the tournament and the Spartans finished third.
