A search and rescue team rescued a person at the Manitou Incline March 15 after receiving a call about someone needing help near the Barr Trail, located just outside of Manitou Springs.
Mitchell Carter, a spokesperson with the town of Manitou Springs, said that a joint rescue operation with Manitou Springs and El Paso County Search and Rescue started following the call. After two hours of climbing and 30 minutes of assessment, the group began heading down.
Carter said the rescue team started down the incline around 1:15 p.m. He also said that the rescue party and a patient reached the trailhead around 3:30 p.m.
More details about the patient or the extent of their injury were not immediately available.

Other people were out on the Manitou Incline despite or because of the nearly 45 inches of snow the area received in the late winter storm. One hiker on the official Manitou Incline Facebook page posted pictures of skiing down the snow-blanketed stairs.
