Rampart Classic

Rampart 74, Fruita Monument 55

At Rampart: Pikes Peak 5A No. 2 Rampart (6-3) used a decisive third quarter to pull away from Fruita Monument (5-7) and get the victory in the Rams' first game of the day. After being tied at halftime, the Rams outscored Fruita Monument 27-6 in the third quarter and held on from there.

Senior Jackson Ehrlin finished with 23 points, six rebounds and two assists. Junior Dawson Carper added 13 points.

Rampart 69, Pueblo West 65 (OT)

At Rampart: In the Rams' (7-3) second game, overtime was required to find a winner vs. Pueblo West (8-1).

Doherty 84, Coronado 43

At Doherty: Coronado (2-7, 0-1 5A Colorado Springs Metro) couldn't keep up with Pikes Peak 5A No. 1 Doherty (7-3, 1-0). Junior Joseph Golden had 14 points and rebounds for Doherty. Senior Brevin Brimble added 18 points.

Junior Jareth Morey led Coronado with 12 points and junior Ashton Rogers added 10 points.

Mitchell 66, Canon City 55

At Mitchell: The Marauders (4-5, 2-0 4A Colorado Springs Metro) jumped out to a 32-18 lead at halftime and hung on from there to take down Canon City (0-8, 0-1).

Mitchell's Erick Mitchell had 20 points and 10 rebounds while senior Peyton Span added 12 points.


Rampart Classic

Fruita Monument 47, Rampart 30

At Rampart: A big first half from Fruita Monument (12-1) set the tone as Pikes Peak 5A No. 3 Rampart fell to 3-5. Junior Madi Wriedt led Rampart with 11 points.

Pueblo West 53, Rampart 30

At Rampart: After hanging around in the first half, Rampart (3-6) was outscored 32-13 in the second half as Pueblo West (9-1) took the victory.

Pueblo East 68, Widefield 40

At Widefield: Widefield (3-5, 0-1) found itself down by 20 points at halftime and could not recover. Sophomore Aaliyah Ricketts scored 10 points and sophomore MacKenzie King pulled down seven rebounds to lead Widefield.

Palmer 46, Grand Junction 30

At Palmer: The Terrors improved to 5-4. Senior Tashika Burrell led Palmer with 13 points, while senior Avad Gomez added 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Palmer recorded 18 steals in the win.

Horizon 54, Pine Creek 37

At Pine Creek: Pikes Peak 5A No. 1 Pine Creek (5-2) fell behind quickly and couldn't bounce back against Horizon (8-2). Pine Creek was led by Courtney Stanton, who had 11 points and nine rebounds.


Resurrection Christian 3, Cheyenne Mountain 0

At NoCo Ice Center: Pikes Peak No. 1 Cheyenne Mountain fell for the second time this season as Resurrection Christian (3-3) shut out the Indians (6-2), whose goalie Ryan McCann had 35 saves.

Columbine 3, Pine Creek 2

At Edge Ice Arena: Pine Creek led after a second-period goal from Alex Brooks, but could not hang on. Dylan Rawson tallied the other goal for Pine Creek. Wyatt Kiewicz stopped 38 shots for Pine Creek.


Colfax Smackdown

At Denver East: Coronado completed its sweep with a 40-30 win over Prairie View and a 41-39 victory over Mesa Ridge. Rounding out the tournament at 7-0 were Cougars' 113-pounder Stephen Dabelko, who won the individual crown, as did Jimmy Weaver (182).

Colt Classic

At Pueblo South: Behind an individual title from Zac Hanenberg at 145 pounds, Canon City won the Colt Classic with 164 points, edging host Pueblo South by 10 points.

James Ruona took second at 120 pounds for Canon City while teammate Xavier Byrne did likewise at 285.

Cheyenne Mountain took fifth as Mike McFadden won the 138-pound division and Zac Baker won at 160.


St. Mary's coach into hall

St. Mary's baseball coach Bill Percy was inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association's Hall of Fame on Friday. He was one of 10 inducted into the hall at the ABCA/Diamond Hall of Fame/Coach of the Year banquet in Anaheim, Calif.
