Colorado is known for its unpredictable weather - but what about its unpredictable wildlife?

Tuesday a baseball game between Manitou Springs and St. Mary's was briefly delayed when three deer had to be chased off the playing field, according to a report.

According to the report, the trouble-making trio entered the field of play at Mustang Field at Maestas Park in the sixth inning causing a 10-minute game delay.

At one point Manitou Springs shortstop Joey Allen used his glove to try to shoo the deer away from the infield, as seen in a photo by CHSAA's Dan Mohrmann.

After the field was clear, St. Mary's went on to win the nonconference game 5-2. Allen was credited with three assists and turned a double play in addition to assisting administrators with clearing the wildlife off the field.

In October 2015 a deer ran onto the field during a Manitou Springs football game.
