Gazette Preps 2018 Girls' Soccer All-Stars

Brooklyn Mack, Sr., Manitou Springs — The Mustangs rode Mack to the state quarterfinals, as she had a team-high 29 goals. She had a way of showing up in big moments, scoring once and assisting two other goals in a 5-0 win that gave Manitou Springs the Class 3A Region 2 title and netting the only goals of a 2-0 state playoff win over rival St. Mary’s.

Kait Halverson, Jr., Colorado Springs Christian School — Halverson had quite the impact in her first season playing at the 3A level, leading the classification with 34 goals and 75 points. She scored at least three goals in seven games.

Sydney Lasater, Fr., Sand Creek — Lasater was one of three freshmen in the state to record 32 goals, and her 77 points was good for seventh in the state. She scored in 12 of her 14 appearances and scored five or more goals on three occasions.

Emily Nguyen, Sr., Palmer Ridge — The Belmont-signee finished her prep career as a four-year starter and four-time first-team all-Pikes Peak Athletic Conference selection for the Bears. Nguyen led the Palmer Ridge attack once again, scoring 10 times and dishing out six helpers.

Jordan Garrett, So., Rampart — The sophomore played a big role in helping Rampart end Pine Creek’s run of Class 5A Colorado Springs Metro League championships, as Garrett led the Rams with 34 points (12 goals, 10 assists). She had three multi-goal games and assisted the Rams’ only goal in a 1-0 win over 4A finalist Valor Christian late in the regular season.

Alison Smith, Sr., The Classical Academy — Smith helped the Titans to a 1-0 first-round playoff win over Cheyenne Mountain by setting up the game’s only goal. She finished the year with a team-high 12 assists and owns the Titans’ program record for career assists with 43.

Bridget Bodor, Jr., Manitou Springs — The 5-foot-10 Bodor not only used her size and speed to win balls in the midfield for the Mustangs, but those traits translated into the attack, as the junior scored 19 times and assisted 12 others. Her defensive efforts help Manitou Springs allow just four goals on the year.

Kelsie Knoerzer, Sr., Pine Creek — Knoerzer led a back line that allowed just three goals in league play, all of which were scored by Rampart. The Air Force Academy recruit found the back of the net once and assisted another goal for the Eagles.

Sydney Silver, Sr., St. Mary’s — Silver, one of three Pirates captains, led a defensive unit that allowed 12 goals in 17 contests. The only team to score more than two goals on St. Mary’s was Holy Family, the No. 3 seed in the 4A postseason. The senior scored once and assisted two goals.

Rilee Britton, Sr., Lewis-Palmer — The Ranger senior closed her prep career with a selection to the PPAC first team. Britton anchored a defense that kept a clean sheet to beat ninth-seeded Niwot in the opening round of the state playoffs. The Lewis-Palmer defense had eight shutouts and allowed 16 goals in 17 games. Britton is also credited with four goals and three assists on the team’s maxpreps page.

Bella Zanotelli, So. Cheyenne Mountain — The sophomore not only made the PPAC first team, but was named Player of the Year after allowing 1.342 goals per game with seven clean sheets for the Indians. Zanotelli averaged 6.3 saves per game for a team that went 9-5-2 and advanced to the state playoffs.
