Lewis-Palmer 30, Discovery Canyon 27

At D-20 Stadium: The Rangers pulled off a big upset, overcoming a 20-13 halftime deficit to beat the Thunder thanks to Evan Walsh scoring on a short touchdown run with six minutes left in the game.

Discovery Canyon (7-1, 2-1) suffered its first loss of the season in Class 3A Central League action.

Walsh also finished with a 64-yard TD run.

Discovery Canyon quarterback Zach Anderson had two rushing TD runs and completed a 45-yard TD pass to Kevin Paison, while teammate Marshall Pike had a 29-yard TD.

For Lewis-Palmer (5-3, 2-1), Alex Weaver and Carter Dewey each had touchdown runs. The Rangers also recorded a safety that cut a deficit to 20-15 early in the third quarter.

Doherty 24, Legend 14

At EchoPark Stadium: Gage Vanaman rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns, and the Spartans overcome a 14-10 halftime deficit with two second-half TDs in 5A Southern League action.

Logan Siffert also threw a touchdown pass for the Spartans (4-5, 3-1).

Legend (4-5, 1-3) has dropped four of its last five games.

Pikes Peak Christian 65, Swink 6

At Pikes Peak Christian: The Eagles (7-1, 5-0) exploded for an eye-popping 48 points in the first quarter en route to their seventh straight win in A-8 Southern League action.

Swink (2-6, 1-4) has lost three straight.

Colorado Springs Christian School 55, St. Mary's 6

At CSCS: The Lions (7-1, 3-0) put the game away early, exploding for a 20-point second quarter after leading 14-6 in the 1A Tri-Peaks League game.

St. Mary's (3-5, 0-3) has dropped five of its last six games.


Salida 9, The Vanguard School 2

At The Vanguard School: Gabe Skrur scored a goal in each half, but the Coursers (2-12-1, 1-7) couldn't recover from a 5-1 halftime deficit in the Class 3A Tri-Peaks League game.

Salida (9-4-2, 6-1-1) has won five straight.


Rampart 3, ThunderRidge 0

At ThunderRidge: The Rams (13-5) earned a 25-17, 25-13, 25-23 sweep of ThunderRidge to expand on a three-match winning streak in nonconference action.

The Grizzlies (10-7) have suffered their third straight loss.
