THE GAZETTE

Wesley Gordon’s name hardly ever leads the scoring column in Sierra’s basketball boxscores.

But the 6-foot-7 sophomore makes his mark by dominating the paint on defense and opening scoring opportunities for talented teammates.

“We have so many good players,” the center said. “I just mainly try to block shots and rebound and then score if I need to.”

Gordon blocked nine shots Friday during the Stallions’ 55-42 win over Castle View, bringing his total to 62 this season. Gordon also leads the team with 52 rebounds.
