Pine Creek's Pustay drafted by Texas Rangers
Comments 0Pine Creek center fielder John Pustay was selected in the 37th round by the Texas Rangers in the MLB First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday.
Pustay, who was taken 1,126th overall, is slated to attend San Diego State on scholarship next season. He told The Gazette prior to the draft that he would only make the jump to the pros if the situation was right.
“I’m slated to be taken between Rounds 7 and 15, but if I go in the top 5 and the money is right, I will consider it,” he said.
