Pikes Peak No. 3 Fountain-Fort Carson 41, No. 4 Air Academy 7
At Fountain: Quinton Lawson ran for touchdowns of 25, 12 and 59 yards, compiling 271 yards on just nine carries, as the Trojans (9-1) ran out to a 41-point lead through three quarters. The win secured a home playoff game for Fountain-Fort Carson.
Air Academy got on the board with a 20-yard reception by Wesley Langskov from Josh Tizzard in the fourth. The loss leaves the Kadets (6-4), who were seeded 15th in the unofficial wild card points coming into the game, on the bubble for the 16-team Class 4A playoffs.
The Classical Academy 14, Bennett 10
At Bennett: Matt Gackle caught an 80-yard pass from Brice Queener on first-and-10 with 2:21 left to give the Titans (8-2, 5-2 2A Colorado) their school-record eighth win and third place in the conference.
Trailing 10-0 at halftime, Titans coach Nate Sassaman had the team repeat "we are going to win this game" five times before returning to the field.
Once there, Ben Register got the Titans on the board with a 47-yard third-quarter run and the defense, led by Matt Gackle, Charlie Countess and Zac Blaha, shut out the Tigers (3-87, 3-4) the rest of the game.
"We just talked about staying in the game, never giving up and playing to the final second," Sassaman said. "It was looking pretty hopeless there and the kids just never quit."
Manitou Springs 20, Lamar 13
At Lamar: Rodney Bohnert scored on a 12-yard pass from Alex Reiter with 6:33 remaining to give the Mustangs (8-2, 6-1 2A Tri-Peaks) the victory.
Cañon City 41, Pueblo Centennial 0
At Cañon City: Damon McCain ran for 305 yards on 17 carries, including scores of 11, 68 and 77 yards for the Tigers (9-1, 7-1 3A Southern), who clinched second place in the league and a spot in the 16-team playoffs.
McCain finished the regular season with 2,496 yards and 29 touchdowns.
"Damon is a good, hard working young man and really an unselfish young man," Tigers coach Chris Koppa said. "He's got a lot of yards but he knows he couldn't have all those yards without his offensive linemen and wide receivers blocking for him. I'm just proud of the team as a whole."
Arapahoe 39, No. 5 Rampart 15
At Arapahoe: Devin Mohn scored for the Rams (2-8) with a 70-yard run, but Rampart could not hold on, surrendering 33-first half points to the Warriors (2-7).
La Junta 19, CSCS 16
At La Junta: Grant Chapman and Rocco Bachara both scored for the Colorado Springs Christian School, but the Lions (4-6, 4-4 2A Tri-Peaks) came up short against the Tigers (5-5, 4-4).

CSS advances to 2A state tournament for first time
At Fountain Middle School: Colorado Springs School lost their first match of the season, falling to regional champion Fowler 25-19, 25-18, 25-23 at the 2A Region D tournament.
But the Kodiaks (25-1) outlasted 2007 2A runner-up Simla (20-5) in the second match and came back from a 0-2 hole to beat defending champion Hoehne 19-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-17, 15-13 to place second in pool play and advance to state for the first time in school history.
"I think it's good for us to face a loss and the fact that the girls came back to win the next two says a lot about their mental toughness," Kodiaks coach Kyong Lee said. "Being down two games (to Hoehne), they just really started playing well. Bre Cullity, our captain, really stepped it up and made all the right plays at all the right times."
Elbert winless at A regional
At Limon: Elbert (9-14) was swept by Liberty (Joes), Flagler and Otis to end their season in the Class A Region C tournament. Otis (23-2) won 3-0 over Flagler (18-8) and 3-2 over Liberty (20-4) to win the tournament. Second-place Liberty swept Flagler to advance to state as well.
