Cheyenne Mountain exits playoffs with round of 16 loss
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The only weak part of the Central High School boys basketball team's game Saturday afternoon was coach Brad Ranson's exhausted voice.
Although the Wildcats' boss could only squeak from the sidelines after losing his voice, Central was extremely stingy with the ball, dominated the glass and produced a devastating third-quarter burst that produced a date in the Great 8.
Central, seeded No. 2 in the Ron Shavlik Region, was tremendous in nearly every phase and its team effort easily dispatched No. 3 Cheyenne Mountain 60-37 in the Sweet 16 of the Class 4A state playoffs at the Colorado State Fair Events Center.
"It was probably good I can't talk. They didn't have to listen to me and just played," Ranson joked. "It was just a good effort, all the way around."
