At Pine Creek: The host Eagles won seven of the first nine weight classes including 140-pounder Ben Molina's win by pin in 43 seconds.

At Sand Creek: Doherty dominated the upper weights, winning by pin or forfeit in seven of the top weight classes.


GIRLS BASKETBALL

Pikes Peak No. 4 Rampart 50, Kennedy 46

At Rampart: Kelsey Bradley scored 17 and Kelly Hillick added 14 points to lead the Rams (1-1). Nikki Kinzer added seven points and 12 rebounds against Kennedy (0-2.

No. 6 Air Academy 59, Loveland 53

At Air Academy: Junior Jessica Arney led the Kadets (1-0) with 17 points while junior Tatum Price added 14. Air Academy almost squandered a 19-point lead headed into the fourth quarter.

"We froze a bit with first-game jitters but we made enough free throws,' said coach Ivan Chambers. Shelby Jones scored 18 for Loveland (0-2).


HOCKEY

Rampart 5, Pueblo County 2

At Sertich: Rampart's Daniel Mitchell assisted the first goal and scored the third during a decisive two-minute span in the third for the Rams (1-0).

Ralston Valley 7, Pine Creek 0

At Sertich: Pine Creek goalie Chris Dylewski made 36 saves but Ralston Valley out shot the 0-2 Eagles 46-7.
