Wednesday's roundup: Kohlgraf's pin seals win for Palmer

WRESTLING
Palmer 36, Liberty 28
At Palmer: Palmer’s young wrestlers played a pivotal role in a dual match against Liberty, including freshman Cory Kohlgraf's pin at 113 pounds.
“I thought we would win with experience, and it was the younger kids that won the dual for us," Terrors coach Martin Davidson said. "We won the dual because of Cory Kohlgraf’s efforts in the last match."
Woodland Park 66, Harrison 15
At Woodland Park: Daltoh Carothers (126), Broedy Sisneros (132), Thomas Chisholm (170), and Jonah Shreve (195) all pinned their foes in under two minutes.
Devon Strover (220) was the only Harrison wrestler to win a match, doing it by decision over Woodland Park's Caelen Garner 5-4.
Mesa Ridge 80, Mitchell 0
At Mitchell: Mesa Ridge’s Sheldon Berg (170) and Thomas Rydzynski (285) both pinned their opponents in under a minute to lead Mesa Ridge to a blow-out victory.
Colorado Springs Christian School 45, Manitou Springs 30
At Manitou Springs: Robert Anderson’s 34-second pin in his 152-pound match helped lift CSCS over Manitou Springs.
Doherty 53, Rampart 28
At Doherty: Logan Hammarmeister won by tech fall, and Doherty had six pins to top Rampart.
BOYS' BASKETBALL
Coronado 56, Cañon City 38
At Coronado: Coronado (4-4) shrugged off a slow start to down Cañon City, as Titus Rice put up a game-high 12 points while Trey Vaughn grabbed nine rebounds.
After scoring only five in the first quarter, the Cougars put up 21 in the second quarter.
“Titus Rice carried us tonight, and we fed off of his energy,” Coronado coach Myles Johnson said.
Coronado had 44 rebounds, 17 of them on offense. Cañon City fell to 4-9.
GIRLS' BASKETBALL
The Classical Academy 40, Fountain Valley 21
At The Classical Academy: Pikes Peak 3A No. 2 TCA’s stifling defense shut out Fountain Valley in the first quarter and held them to single digits in the other three.
The win upped TCA's record to 8-0, while Fountain Valley dropped to 1-3.
HOCKEY
Mountain Vista 3 Pine Creek 1
At Sertich: After a scoreless first period, Mountain Vista (8-1) notched two goals in the second to take a lead it would not relinquish.
Pine Creek (6-6) avoided being shutout on Logan Bowles' goal in the third period and goalie Conor Chemlka had 39 saves.
