Monday's roundup: Shott's hat trick pushes Fountain Valley past Rampart
HOCKEY
Fountain Valley 8, Rampart 4
At Sertich: Fountain Valley (4-2) scored three times in the second period and added another four in the third to pull away from Rampart (0-7).
Trevor Shott notched his second hat trick in the span of a week, adding to his state-leading goal total of 16.
Ian Johnson led the Rams with four points (two goals, two assists).
Pueblo County 3, Pine Creek 2
At Sertich: Jon Gerrett scored 10 seconds into the final period to put Pueblo County (5-2) up for good.
Logan Stein’s power-play goal drew Pine Creek (6-5) within one, but the Spartans failed to find the game-tying goal.
Air Academy 3, Liberty 0
At Seritch: Nick Danzo turned aside all 10 shots he faced and Travis Work scored twice to lead Air Academy (5-1-1) past Liberty (0-9).
Work scored in each of the first two periods, while Jared Kane added the Kadets’ final goal in the third.
Liberty goalie Alex White made 31 saves on 34 shots.
GIRLS’ SWIMMING
Rampart 246, Fountain-Fort Carson 52
At Rampart: Rampart took the top two spots in every event, as the Rams cruised to the victory.
Olivia Parvin won the 50-yard freestyle, 100 freestyle and swam in the winning 200-yard medley relay for the Rams.
