No. 1 Palmer Ridge 5, No. 4 Discovery Canyon 0

At Don Breese Stadium: Mackenzie Gouner scored twice, and No. 1 Palmer Ridge (13-0) earned its 12th consecutive shutout.

Kaylyn Smith and Avery Shook each had a goal and an assist for the Bears, a state semifinalist last year.

"We really started to pick things up in the second half," Palmer Ridge coach Nick Odil said. "We just missed chances in the first half, and there are some things we weren’t 100 percent on."

The Bears now face No. 2 Lewis-Palmer in the semifinals.

"That’s a cross-town rivalry here in Monument, and you just throw the records out the window and just go play," Odil said. "It’s going to be a tough game, a hard-fought game, and we’re looking forward to it."

No. 4 Discovery Canyon (5-6-2) only managed two shots on goal.
