Monday's roundup: Air Academy overcomes 2-0 deficit to down Palmer in hockey

At Sertich Ice Center: Pikes Peak No. 3 Air Academy (3-1-1) had to rally to beat winless Palmer (0-6) Wednesday.
The Kadets fell behind 2-0 before tying the game with 0.4 seconds remaining in the first period. After that it was all Kadets, who outscored Palmer 7-2 the rest of the way.
Four Kadets registered three points, including Everett Valtin who had two goals and an assist. It was Valtin's power-play goal in the final second of the first period that drew the Kadets even headed into the locker room.Valtin also scored a power-play goal with 30 seconds left in the second period, putting the Kadets up 5-3 at that point.
Travis Work and Mikey Smith scored less than 2 minutes apart midway through the second period to help Air Academy pull ahead for good.
Four players scored for the Terrors.
Ralston Valley 7, Cheyenne Mountain 0
At Sertich Ice Center: Ralston Valley (4-1) put up 42 shots while holding Cheyenne Mountain (2-4-1) to 11, as the Mustangs scored at least twice in every period.
Austin Resseguie and Tyler Morpurgo each scored twice for the Mustangs.
The Indians were blanked for the third time this season.

Valor Christian coach quitting for college gig
After winning four consecutive state championships, Valor Christian football coach Brent Vieselmeyer is stepping down, the Denver Post reported.
Vieselmeyer is taking a job as an assistant coach at Houston Baptist, the paper reported.
Among the Eagles’ four championships was a 66-10 Class 4A win over Pine Creek in 2011.
