L-P's Jordan Scott, left, goes up for a shot

Healthy Jordan Scott hopes for another Lewis-Palmer title

Jordan Scott hopes the pain in his knees is gone. During Lewis-Palmer’s run to the state 4A basketball title, Scott struggled after each game with severe discomfort in his knees.

“It was a sharp pain every time I jumped,” Scott said. “It took away my explosiveness.”

He stayed up late on game nights, icing his knees for 3 hours – 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off – before going to bed.

Scott, the younger brother of Lewis-Palmer center Josh Scott, spent two months away from the game after the season. He rested his knees and hoped the tendinitis would subside.

“It’s gotten a lot better,” he said. “A lot of the pain has gone away.”

Josh Scott will play next season for Colorado. Jordan is considering Air Force, Colorado, Nebraska, Belmont, Drake and Wyoming, in no particular order.

“I really haven’t thought about it much,” he said, talking about his college decision.

He is thinking about his senior season at Lewis-Palmer. Jordan averaged 12.6 points last season while teaming with his brother to deliver the 2012 state title. He’s hoping to deliver another title in 2013.

“That’s definitely our goal, to get a repeat,” Scott said. “We have a long way to go from where we are right now, but it’s definitely a possibility.”

Scott believes he will be a different player for his final high school season.

“It’s going to be great compared to last year,” Scott said. “To be able to move like I used to, that’s going to be awesome.”
