Friday's roundup: Davis runs for 179 yards as Fountain-Fort Carson remains unbeaten
Fountain-Fort Carson 33, Palmer 7
At Palmer: Anthony Davis ran 21 times for 179 yards and two touchdowns to lead Fountain-Fort Carson (4-0, 2-0 5A Pioneer League) to a win over Palmer (0-4, 0-2).
The Spartans rushed for 317 yards as Cameron Hacker added 60 and Ben Selby had 55.
Fountain-Fort Carson led 33-0 but lost the shutout when Palmer scored on a 33-yard touchdown pass from Stratton Case to Andrew Pellow.
Liberty 56, Sand Creek 27
At Sand Creek:Dylan Flynn scored four touchdowns as Liberty (3-1) scored 35 points in the first half and cruised to a win over Sand Creek (2-2) in the 4A Pikes Peak League opener for both teams.
Flynn caught two TD passes, ran for another and returned a kickoff 93 yards for the fourth. He finished with four catches for 163 yards and five rushed for 64 yards.
Dave Brown and Shane Walker rushed for 108 and 106 yards respectively for the Lancers, who led 56-13 at one point.
Micheal DeCarmo threw four touchdowns for Sand Creek, two of which went to Dominic Reed in the fourth quarter.
Ponderosa 63, Air Academy 7
At Ponderosa: Ponderosa (4-0) ran for 271 yards and passed for 189 more in a blowout victory over Air Academy (1-3).
Ponderosa began the game with an 80-yard touchdown run by Corry Williams and went on to reach the end zone twice more in the game’s first six minutes.
A 68-yard Air Academy touchdown pass cut the gap to 21-7, but Ponderosa added two more TDs before the end of the quarter to make it 35-7. Two second-quarter scores put the halftime gap at 49-7.

The Classical Academy 59, Vista Peak 12
At TCA: Andrew Register rushed for 118 yards and Jantzen Ryals threw for four touchdowns as TCA (4-0) beat Vista Peak (1-3).
Three of Ryals’ TDs came in the first quarter as TCA opened a 31-0 lead.
Elizabeth 34, Lewis-Palmer 27
At Lewis-Palmer: Lewis-Palmer (1-3) scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter but came up short in a loss to Elizabeth (1-3).
Trailing 34-6, Nate Conner connected with Sean Grundman for touchdown passes of 19 and 80 yards. The Rangers added a 1-yard touchdown run by Austin Grantham with 3:18 remaining but couldn't get the tying score.
Pueblo East 27, Coronado 12
At Pueblo East: Pueblo East improved to 3-1 with a win over Coronado (1-3).
After Pueblo East turned good field position into a 3-yard touchdown pass, Coronado’s Antwan Outlaw returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a TD. The Cougars missed the extra point to cut the deficit to 7-6. Pueblo East put together an 80-yard touchdown drive and added another score after a Coronado turnover late in the first half to take a 21-6 lead into the intermission.
A 25-yard pass from Joah Smith to Sam Smith cut the gap to 21-12, but the Pueblo East defense shut the Cougars down the rest of the way.
Colorado Springs Christian 35, Peyton 14
At Peyton: Jim Kenney had touchdown runs of 40 and 41 yards as CSCS defeated Peyton.
Dan Kenney added touchdown passes of 39 and 2 yards and a 34 yard TD run for CSCS.
Tyler Lashley led Peyton with 131 yards rushing
Sierra 34, Woodland Park 6
At Woodland Park: Sierra improved to 2-2 with a road win over Woodland Park (2-2).
Jacob Censner led Woodland Park with 99 yards rushing.
Florence 47, Alamosa 6
At Florence: Florence improved to 2-0 in the 2A Tri-Peaks League (3-1 overall) with a win over Alamosa (1-3, 0-2).
Discovery Canyon 29, Pueblo County 22
At Pueblo County: Discovery Canyon (4-0) remained unbeaten with a win over Pueblo County (2-2).
Falcon 57, Rampart 0
At Rampart: Falcon improved to 4-0 with a blowout win over Rampart in the 4A Tri-Peaks League opener for both teams.
Clark Jones led Rampart with 52 yards rushing.
Mitchell 28, Harrison 21
At Harrison: Mitchell (1-3) notched its first win of the season with a defeat of Harrison (0-4).
NOTE: Pikes Peak Christian played its first home night game when it faced Simla Friday evening. No score was available at press time.
“This is really and exciting time for our football team and the school,” Pikes Peak Christian coach Doug Miller said. “We have brought in portable lights and giving our athletes a taste of ‘Friday Night Football.’”
Doherty def. Ralston Valley 25-17, 25-14, 25-19
At Doherty: Haleigh Washington had 12 kills and 2.5 blocks to lead Doherty (11-0) to a straight-set win over Ralston Valley (1-4).
Kiara McKibben added nine kills and Cierra Simpson seven for the Spartans, who have dropped just one set this season.
“I don’t think we played our best match tonight,” Doherty coach Tara Hittle said. “It was one of those games where we went out and played our game.”
Palmer Ridge 6, Colorado Springs School 1
At Palmer Ridge: Palmer Ridge swept all four doubles matches and also got wins at Nos. 2 and 3 singles in a victory over Colorado Springs School.
Bruno Rolfs remained unbeaten at No. 1 singles for Colorado Springs School, notching a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Ben Finger.
All four Palmer Ridge doubles tandems won in straight sets. Ryan Courtney and Dakota Parker got singles wins for the Bears.
Pueblo West 2, Canon City 0
At Canon City: Jayden Moreschini and Mitchell Erickson scored to push Pueblo West past Canon City.
Collin Baxter had four saves to record the shutout. Canon City’s Jack Roberts had 12 saves in the losing effort.
Palmer Ridge 3, Denver East 0
At Denver East: Jessica Berg had two goals and Casey Deeds had a goal and two assists to lead Palmer Ridge over Denver East.
