HOCKEY
Doherty 4, Pine Creek 2
At Sertich: Pikes Peak No. 1 Doherty (8-2) got goals from four different players, as the Spartans used a two-goal second period to open up the lead on Monday.
Patrick Alldredge opened the scoring in the first period for the Spartans, while Ty Snyder and Evan Weidner scored the pair in the second. Dusty Kachel added an empty-netter to ice the game.
Alex Wendlandt and Ryan Parent scored for the Eagles (6-8).
Palmer 6, Liberty 6, OT
At Sertich: Andre Ogren’s second goal of the third period came with 9 seconds remaining to earn a draw for Liberty (0-11-1), the team’s first point of the season.
The Lancers trailed by two when Ogren scored with 4:24 to play to cut Palmer’s lead to 6-5. Ogren tallied again, this time on the power play, at the 16:51 mark to force overtime, where the teams skated to a tie.
Palmer’s RJ Haenze gave the Terrors (2-6-1) the two-goal lead with a pair of scores less than 2 minutes apart in the final period. Haenze also added two assists for a four-point night.
Palmer is 2-0-1 in its last three games.
Pueblo County 5, Rampart 2
At Pueblo: Pueblo County (6-2) scored the first three goals to put the game out of reach before Rampart (0-10) could get on the board.
Trey Williams and Byron London scored for the Rams.
