5A state swim meet ticket procedures altered by CHSAA
AURORA – One year after Missy Franklin’s appearance at the 5A state swim and dive meet caused huge waves in Fort Collins, CHSAA on Friday took a big step to calm the waters in order for schools, friends and families to get first shot at tickets.
Franklin, a four-time gold medalist at the 2012 London Games and senior at Regis Jesuit, will return to Edora Pool Ice Center, Feb. 8-9. But the free-for-all that was the ticket-buying process is no more.
Schools will be given first opportunity to purchase tickets, starting at 10 a.m. Feb. 5. Each school is limited to two adult tickets per qualifier each day.
At noon Feb. 6, any leftover tickets will go on sale to the general public online at chsaa.ticketleap.com.
The meet will once again be streamed live online at chsaa.tv.
Last year, CHSAA allowed tickets to be sold online in advance and provided only 100 tickets for the finals on a first-come, first-served basis at the door.
